The Dénia Creative City Foundation is committed to a new project that combines equality, sport, and sustainability. Cheers

The Dénia Creative Foundation has supported a new project proposed by the Dénia Climbing Club, with the backing of Auren and the collaboration of the Dénia City Council. Coinciding with International Mountain Day on December 11th, a public screening of the documentary "Ta Bo – Abriendo Camino III" (Opening the Way III) has been organized. This film recounts a women's climbing expedition in Angola with a social, inclusive, and empowering focus on women.

This initiative combines the promotion of mountain sports, respect for the natural environment, and inclusion in the sporting arena, aiming to create a cultural, sporting, and reflective day for the residents of Dénia, especially young people, female athletes, and anyone interested in the values of equality, sustainability, and adventure.

"Abriendo Camino" is one of the projects made possible thanks to the Universo Mujer grant from the Spanish National Sports Council and Iberdrola, through the FEDME's (Spanish Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing) Women and Mountaineering division. And Abriendo Camino III is also a way to give visibility to our female mountain athletes, in this case, those who practice different climbing disciplines; a means to encourage women's participation in mountain and climbing sports; the creation of female role models in our sport so that future generations can dream of achieving these accomplishments; and the opportunity to share this entire experience through the filming of a documentary, reaching a wider audience.

The documentary Ta Bo – Abriendo Camino III will be screened on Thursday, December 11, at 7:00 p.m. at the Dénia Cultural Center. Following the screening (around 7:45 p.m.), there will be a discussion with some of the documentary's protagonists, followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Admission is free.
